- Of the 2,614 employers in ImmigrationClock's H-1B directory, the five states where the most sponsors concentrate their approvals are California (409), Texas (354), New Jersey (324), New York (157) and Illinois (147).
- Those five states account for 1,391 of the 2,614 listed sponsors — 53.2%.
- The state is each employer's top state by approvals in the USCIS export for fiscal year 2023; an employer with worksites in several states is counted once, in the state with the most.
Caveats
- This counts employers, not petitions or workers. A state with many small sponsors ranks above a state with a few very large ones.
- Directory coverage is employers with at least 10 approvals in fiscal year 2023.
